What does couples therapy cost?

The rates above say what a session costs. What that buys, and how long a trajectory runs, is below.

What the rate covers

The rate covers the session itself and the work around it: the preparation, and keeping track of where you stand. There is no separate intake fee — the free intro call doubles as the intake.

How many sessions a trajectory takes

Usually 4 to 8 sessions, spread over a few months. One concrete stuck subject can take fewer; after infidelity, or a separation with children, it more often takes longer. You are tied to nothing: you pay per session and decide each time whether to continue. The frequently asked questions page gives a guideline per situation.

Frequently asked questions about pricing

The questions that come up most about the cost, about what you get for it, and about reimbursement. Sessions are self-pay for everyone, including internationals on Dutch or foreign insurance, so there is no referral to arrange and no claim to file.

Is couples therapy reimbursed by health insurance?

No. Couples therapy and individual coaching fall outside the basic package and outside most supplemental plans: reimbursement is meant for medical treatment, and this is not that. What you get in return is no referral, no waiting list, and no diagnosis on your record. Some employers do reimburse coaching, or you can put a personal budget towards it. That is worth asking about.

What do I get for my money?

The full attention of a certified, SNRO-accredited relationship coach, and the same coach at every session. I ask the questions that get past the surface, make visible the pattern that keeps repeating, and give you exercises you can put to use at home right away. Every session is built around where you are that day.

Can I pay in instalments?

You pay per session, each time upfront. That is the instalment plan, in effect: you never commit to more than the next appointment, and there is no package or subscription behind it. If you want to pause or stop, you can do that after any session.
